Privacy Policy
gitime.dev is built privacy-first: the tools process your data entirely inside your own browser. This page explains what that means, the limited third-party services we rely on, and the choices you have under GDPR and US state privacy laws.
Last updated: 2 June 2026. This Privacy Policy applies to the website https://www.gitime.dev and all developer tools hosted on it ("the Site", "we", "us").
1. The short version
- Your tool data never leaves your browser. Every converter, decoder, formatter, hasher and diff tool runs as client-side JavaScript. The text, files, keys or certificates you paste or upload are processed locally and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- We have no user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, and we do not ask for your name, email or any personal identifier to use the tools.
- We do use third parties for fonts and advertising. These may set cookies or process limited technical data, as described below.
2. Data processed by the tools
Content you enter into any tool on this Site (for example JSON, CSV, YAML, JWTs, images, certificates or text to diff) is handled entirely on your device. We do not receive, log, sell or retain it. When you close or reload the tab, that data is gone. We cannot recover it and neither can anyone else through us.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and the third-party services below may automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and timestamps. This is used to serve the Site, maintain security and (for advertising) as described in Section 5. We do not combine this with any identity, because we hold no identity data about you.
4. Cookies and local storage
The core tools do not require cookies to function. Cookies or similar technologies on this Site come from:
- Google AdSense and its advertising partners — to serve and measure ads (see Section 5).
- Your consent choices — when you make a privacy selection (GDPR/CCPA), it may be stored locally so we don't ask again on every visit.
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the tools will still work.
5. Advertising — Google AdSense
This Site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- For more information on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's policy.
6. Your choices — Europe (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we (via a Google-certified consent message) ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used. You may:
- Consent, manage your options, or choose "Do not consent" when the consent message appears.
- Change your decision at any time by reopening the privacy/consent settings from this page or your browser controls.
- Exercise your rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Because we store no personal identity data ourselves, most such requests should be directed to the relevant third-party controller (e.g. Google).
7. Your choices — United States (CCPA / state privacy)
If you are a resident of California or another US state with applicable privacy law, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell your data for money. To exercise your opt-out, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" / privacy options control presented on the Site, or the Google Ads Settings link in Section 5.
8. Children
The Site is intended for developers and general audiences and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Data security & disclaimer
Because tool data stays on your device, the most important security control is in your hands. The Site is provided "as is" for reference and development purposes. We make no warranty as to the accuracy or fitness of any output and accept no liability for any loss arising from use of the tools. Please do not enter unauthorised confidential or personal data into any tool.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site evolves or as legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
11. Contact
